Maanvi Gagroo : The First Lady of Indian Web Series

Published

on

Maanvi Gagroo, born on 5 September 1985, hasn’t been from the world of lights, camera, and action. Away from all the glamour, she had a protected and loving childhood in Delhi. But the bug had caught her early in her acting career. She still managed to go back to Delhi and  finish her graduation and then it was clear to her that Mumbai is the city, where she wanted to be. Equipped with a Psychology degree Maanvi never looked back.

Maavi is not new to the camera. You might have discovered her recently, but she had been in entertainment industry for ten years now. She debuted with a Disney TV series, Dhoom Machao Dhoom (DMD), in 2007, did a series of Idea ads with Abhishek Bachchan in 2011, and had minor roles in films like No One Killed Jessica (2011) and PK (2014).

From being a familiar face on Telly, to be a highly popular name in Web series circuit via TVF Pitchers 2015, Maanvi shot to fame with one of India’s earliest web series, Pitchers. She also played a strong character Chanchal in TVF Tripling , which is primarily a sibling road-trip drama show. While growing up, Gagroo realised that she had a passion for dance after she received training in kathak at the age of 12.

Maanvi has been part of  interesting videos with Being Indian like “Every Bombay Girl in the World”. One has to agree that Maanvi made the character looked lively and realistic.

During her time at the theater, she came in touch with Nidhi Bisht who introduced her to the world of The Viral Fever and since then she had been hooked onto it.

Gagroo’s character in Pitchers is self-aware which is a stark contrast to her previous work as that chirpy girl. The stint on Pitchers got her an audition for TVF Tripling as Chanchal, the middle child among three siblings. It is an unusual story of a road trip with immediate family, Tripling looks like TVF’s most elaborate venture so far, and was shot for over a month across northern India. She co-stars with Sumeet Vyas and Amol Parashar.

Even today, Maanvi loves her morning siesta time and makes sure she catches up with her family and friends during those few days she isn’t working. She has a fundamental belief that, having a family which is totally cut off from the glam world keeps he sane and grounded. She believes one of the biggest challenges in her life has been growing up and it would be great if we all could just go back to your childhood and be carefree once again.

Maanvi also shared that how she often wonders if she hadn’t pursued acting and ended up getting a normal job, had a family, kids and everything that her peers are doing how different would her life be! In moments like these, Maanvi steps back and remembers why exactly she decided to follow her passion and it always brings her right back to the wonderful reality.

In one line Maanvi Gangroo is a passionate actress and a great human being.

A Satirical Love Story with a Powerful Social Message : Toilet Ek Prem Katha

Published

on

‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ might be an unusual name for a Bollywood movie, but it seems like people are loving the different and important message it promises to deliver.

The movie aims to spread awareness about sanitation problems and the importance of building toilets. Despite being a major problem in several parts of the country, it largely goes unnoticed and we are glad that Bollywood is finally taking up such issues and not working around the regular romance comedy genre. Further, given the gigantic reach of Bollywood, we hope that it drops on the right ears and brings the much-needed positive transformation in the country. So far, both Akshay and his movie trailer seems to be doing a fabulous job in creating awareness among the masses, at least the reach says so.

Since ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ is one on the most important and famous initiatives by BJP led NDA government, Akshay even tweeted to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi telling him that this is his humble contribution towards a Swachh Bharat. It was applauded by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi as well.

Since the trailer is so well-received, the movie will be for sure an instant hit when it comes out on August 11th!
