‘If you want to leave your footprints on the sands of time do not drag your feet.’
A visionary who encapsulated the true essence of being a patriot not only through the power and aura of his words but through manifestation of those words into actions shaping the tomorrow that we aspire to see every day. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam was a passionate teacher and a benevolent philosopher whose principles in life were quite simple and driven. Be a good man. Be a hardworking individual, in layman’s language. He strived for excellence not only for himself but his task force as well. His journey from his first failed missile attempt to the Presidential position which brought into scrutiny the greatness of his kind heart, Dr Kalam has stuck up to optimism and opportunities in his life. His autobiography is a mirror to his beautiful soul and the answers to many a mysteries in our own lives.
His love for his parents, high regard for his teachers, consideration for his team mates and the compassion that enthralled him to work towards the greater good for the country goes to show the greatness of this man. He was not just a philanthropist, a scientist or a visionary but an exemplification of an alpha being who believed in performance and people, not in power but in principles of action. His intelligence and the power to woo thousands through his speech of considerable wisdom, Dr Kalam lived to show what life truly offers to those who wait and ponder, striving for excellence. Power means nothing as long as performance doesn’t earn the respect that power can never engrave.
India mourns the loss of a great scientist, a wonderful President & above all an inspiring individual. RIP Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
