Losing our loved ones to the universe is always hard. Yet, even after their death, we don’t lose touch. They continue to live in our memories; in our hearts. Their presence lingers, looking after us, having our back. Of course, the sorrow of losing someone takes time to heal. And accepting that wherever they are, they are at peace is the first step. ‘Beyond The Grave’ by Swattrex is a song, precisely about this.
The track features vocals by the phenomenal singer, Bria. But, instead of making it a heart-breaking song about grief, both, Bria and Swattrex, worked on making an optimistic song about acceptance of grief. And with the fusion of chill future pop melody and absolute lyrical magic, this track is bound to entrance you!
The Early Beginnings
Born in Mumbai, raised in Delhi, Swatej Agrawal, at the young age of 21, has performed at Sunburn and various music festivals. Popularly known by his stage name, Swattrex, this young man is well on his path to success.
He completed his BTech in Information Technology at IP University. He was always into new technologies and advancements, gaming, etc. But, his interest in music grew during his graduation.
In the first year of BTech, Swattrex discovered his love for creating music and Dj-ing. Through YouTube videos, blogs, etc., Swatej learnt music production, sound design, music theory and much more. And during this time, he realized he needed a stage name. Earlier, his gaming name used to be ‘Swattrex’. The name stuck with him.
Milestones and Achievements
Soon, he began collaborating with artists across India and then a few more internationally. In 2018, Swatej gained well-deserved hype for his remix of ‘Happier’ by ‘Marshmallow’. His rendition crossed over 100k streams on SoundCloud within a week!
Not long after, Swattrex’s next project, ‘So High’ with ‘Junior Paes’ was featured in some of Korea’s major music platforms including Olleh, Mnet and Soribada.
With 2019, things kept looking up for him, as his Youtube channel crossed 350k subscribers. Swattrex also started performing in clubs and music festivals. In no time, his music reached over 30 million streams.
Recent Times
Currently, Swatej is pursuing an MBA degree from Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, in Lucknow. He does admit that juggling between academics and music is difficult. But his hard work and determination have and will continue to pay off.
It’s all about risk and believing in yourself, he says. Sure, all artists have to face challenges and failures in their journey, but one has to come out of it learning a lesson, showing growth. Maintaining a positive attitude and surrounding yourself with good people is very important. His music community, his friends and the people he surrounds himself with are his biggest motivators.
“Everything takes time, patience and hard work.”
