Sach: A Thought-Provoking Poetry By Kunal Jhawar

In this KalArt presentation, Kunal Jhawar through his poem “Sach”, reiterates the thought that we should always look for the real truth.

June Jordan once said, “Poetry is a political act because it involves telling the truth.” And poetry about truth is an even stronger political act as it emotes the unsaid aspects of life bluntly. Today, we bring you one such thought-provoking poetry by Kunal Jhawar.

Kunal is an engineer by profession and a poet by passion. He is writing poems for over a decade now and mainly writes about love and life. One of his poems has also been featured in Rahul Dravid’s biography ” Behind the wall”.

In the backdrop of the recent events in our country, he observes the subtle aspect of life – truth, which has taken different forms today. In the world of fake and paid news, it becomes difficult to identify the actual truth, as the truth we see through the lens of media is not always real. In this KalArt presentation, Kunal through his poem “Sach”, reiterates the thought that we should always look for the real truth.

Presenting to you this thought-provoking poetry by Kunal Jhawar.

Lockdown Making SRK Sing, Anything Can Happen

SRK wanting to ease the panic situation down has sang a song and Nidhi Narwal has managed to put her heart out in words.'/

Shahrukh Khan

Shahrukh Khan is not just a man, but a legacy in himself. His message sends out a very powerful note out into the world. Using that to his advantage, he has transitioned himself into being a singer now, which nobody really ever thought of, but then again, it’s the lockdown, anything can happen.

Recently, Unerase poetry released a video where we can observe our beloved SRK singing over the recent issue. It is very well understood that the lockdown is not a holiday anymore, lives are getting bleak, people are running out of topics to talk about. Well, at this time no one would mind a little encouraging and blissful video of our favourite superstar.

‘Sab Sahi Ho Jayega’ as the title suggests, is a video communicating about patience and calmness for those people who are panicking in this situation of lockdown.

Well, songs and poetry go hand-in-hand, especially when we talk about love. Love is a feeling of peeking into the wounds of the heart and beautifying them in your own way. Nidhi Narwal beautifully explains this message in her poem named ‘Koi toh ho’. She imparts her feeling of eagerness to find someone who would beautify her wounds and be able to look at the real picture of her and not just the outer version that she displays.

She looks out for love and purity and tries to convey this message through her wonderful words of a broken heart.

A Heartwarming And A Comforting Short Poem By Neelesh Mishra

Breakups are a part of life, adn everybody seems to grieve in a different way. Here Neelesh Mishra decribes a vague feeling of despair felt by people.'/

Neelesh Misra

Speaking of poems they already give you a heart-stirring emotion, most of them portray love in different forms, maybe your partner, maybe a city, or lost ones. Poems are a way of depicting various emotions, and it has an art to it in a whole another way. They could change the way you think by just a few wise choices of words. Isn’t it?

You must have heard a lot of poems that construe heartbreak moments where their partner seems to have gone or left them. Well, this video by Neelesh Mishra is just one of them, but yet again not one of them, it doesn’t just outline the emotion or feeling after a breakup, it has a lot more to it if heard carefully and deeply.

This video communicates about profound despair felt by the poet, where he pours his heart out in words and tries to describe his feelings through the lyrics, it’s a short poem providing you with a gist of those little moments one goes through while suffering through break up or maybe after.

It’s a must-watch for the lovers of poems and poets, Neelesh Mishra is one of the renowned poets of the country, and has recited quite a lot number of poems that have touched souls and will continue to do that with the coming years.

Depression: The Constant Black Cloud Overhead

Depression is not just a feeling of being sad or upset about an unexpected situation. Here, this video will outline the feeling and solutions for depression.'/

We throw around the word ‘depression’ so easily nowadays like Oh my God! I broke up with my boyfriend, I am depressed. People describe every joyless situation with being depressed. But, only an identified medically depressed individual can describe the real emotion behind it.

While being in depression, people give a lot of advice and suggestions such as talking to someone, telling someone, but for people actually suffering through it, it is difficult to put words to something so hard to even understand yourself.

It starts with the little things and gradually progresses to physical symptoms, It compels you to dislike the activities you used to love. This video by Live by FnP Media ‘Depression Ek Paheli’ portrays the different feelings an individual goes through while being in depression and suggests ways to cure it.

This video might not cure anybody’s depression but is a great way to start, which is listening to the journey of someone who has been through it and managed to come out of it, It gives you a sense of relativity, allowing you to sense familiarity with the solutions and problems outlined in this video. For people who are unlikely to have depression, you might come across someone who is suffering through it, well you would know what to do.

It is not easy to be even around someone enduring depression. Their constant feel of recklessness sells a negative vibe. But there are ways to cure it, you just need to be willing, and this poem will give you a gist of it.

Lamenting Upon The Absence Yet Celebrating The Existence of Love

“Ishq Fakiri” is a blissful collaboration of poetry and music performed by Sainee Raj and Baksheesh Singh on Spill poetry’s stage should be everyone’s next watch.'/

Sainee Raj

Lamenting about the absence of love and at the same time craving the beautiful possibilities of love’s existence, the performance is truly enchanting. A collaboration of poetry and music feeds you with right amount of adrenaline rush and just at the time when the heart is ready to accept the heavy impressions of the poetic verse it is darted with heavier musical verse. With beautiful imagery, the performance is capable enough to transport your thoughts and steer them to think about the magical times with your loved ones. With a mixture of nostalgia, loss and possibilities the performance creates a perfect balance of emotions to leave you with goosebumps.

Its not just a collaboration of two art forms but also that of three languages: Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi. It crosses the expectations of contemporary art and sets a new benchmark and proves the fact that art has no limits. Love is enigmatic and the performance rightly expresses this enigma by both celebrating its aesthetic pleasure and by lamenting about the woes it brings. It represents a realistic situation of balance which is associated with ‘Love’ and the audience can surely relate. Again it’s a mixture of utopian metaphors and realistic imagery and brings in act all your senses at once, and accomplishes to please all.

A Poetic Celebration Of Limitless Possibilities: Ghazal Khanna

Ghazal Khanna in her poem “One seat apart” gives us a glimpse of how easy is it to be what you want to be, you just need an acquaintance to personify the realization.'/

Ghazal Khanna

In its natural flow, the poem should not just be appreciated for the perfectly acquainted words but also for an admirable oration by Ghazal. The poem, One Seat Apart by Ghazal Khanna, is all about chaos and its acquaintance with tranquility. In an airport the poet meets a girl with hairs scattered in a pretty mess, chewing gum and having a tattoo over her shoulder. She describes her with charm and elegance yet as wild and fierce. It is not often that an acquaintance can give you an insight into what you could be or what you want to be, and its even harder to note those signs and write a poem about it. The poem is not just a simple incidence being described but it is an extended metaphor of infinite limits lying in ourselves. And the distance between imagination and reality is described to be just one seat apart. This also adds to the situational irony of the poem but also forms the main theme of putting no abstinence in discovering one’s limits.

What is it that made the poet so fascinated? This is the central question that keeps you engaged until the end. The more you listen the more you ponder over it. True beauty is veiled until you discover it yourself and this is the one worth discovering.
