Trending Talents: In an exclusive interview with the host Shashi Mukherjee, the actor and screenwriter, Nikhil Vijay recollects his journey.

The struggle in life is the real test of the worthy. On the road to success, the roadblocks in the form of obstacles, barriers and defeats often act as stepping stones, if one persists through them all. Rarely do we find stories that outline this spirit of endurance in life. Nikhil Vijay, the famed actor and writer in the digital world, is one such person.

Aged around 24, Nikhil was born in Nagpur. However, he grew up in Delhi, when his family moved here. While growing up in a middle-class family, he realized his passion for performing arts and was willing to learn the art of writing and acting. He has worked as a screenwriter at The Viral Fever and as a creative editor at Aarey.

Highly acclaimed for his performances in Gullak (2019), ImMATURE (2019) and Weekends (2018), Nikhil was recently felicitated with the award for best writer in comedy for his show Gullak, which was created by TVF and Streamed on SonyLiv. His achievements and success are a burning example of the fact that the talents are not the reserve of the elites only. He candidly admits that the advent of DSLR/MacBook enabled the upper middle class to realise their dreams of performing art on their own, while the increased outreach of the internet made every person, a performer. Today, the internet is the biggest stage, which is open to every person equally.

In the latest episode of DC’s Trending Talents, the multitalented Nikhil Vijay recalls his journey so far, in a candid conversation with Shashi Mukherjee.
