The societal pressure caused due to set standards for a perfect girl, daughter or wife, oftentimes become a burden on those who are unable to reach those norms. The inability to look beyond such parameters, often drowns its victims in self-doubt and shame, wasting away their true potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The short film Doliyaan, portrays the message of realization of true self-worth in a very subtle way. Set in a village of Uttar Pradesh, the story revolves around a young girl named Kamna. Society’s expectations of a perfect body bother her to an extent, that it makes her insecure and under-confident. Eventually, under the guidance of a young lady, she understands her true worth and proceeds to pursue her dreams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Whistling Woods International production, the film is written and directed by Preksha Agarwal. It casts Trimala Adhikari and Seema Azmi in its lead, with Nirmohi Mali as a supporting cast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film conveys the powerful message of how we accept ourselves is of far greater importance than how others perceive us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
