An Elegant & Graceful Choreographer : Jigyasa Sharma

Jigyasa Sharma, the begetter of StepKraft Dance Company, has been dancing and teaching professionally, ever since her school days. She has vanquished the art of umpteen dance styles like Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Salsa, Theatrical Jazz, Street Funk, House, Bollywood and Rock n Roll! Excelling in the field of performing arts for more than 10 years under the guidance of her mentor, Mr. Shiamak Davar. She is also trained by a number of international celebrity choreographers, namely Matt Steffanina, Dana Alexa, Jawn Ha, Koharu Sugawara, Tara-Jean Popowich, Vincent Desjardins, Fly Lady Di, Evelyn Thomas, Nikita-Natasha, Amy Meyers Obregon, Fernando Aguilera, Bryan Boogiemind East and Adam Alonzo, among others.

Jigyasa, a licensed Zumba and Reebok certified fitness instructor, is a keen learner and reckons with the journey of learning, which never ends. At StepKraft, Jigyasa administers the creative department and she is the principal dancer and choreographer. With StepKraft, she aspires to discover the Power of Dance for others as well as for herself.

Dance Choreography on ‘Manwaa Laage’ by Prachi Tyagi

Prachi Tyagi, a final year law student. She is professionally trained in Bharatanatyam which is a pre-eminent Indian classical dance form presumably the oldest classical dance heritage of India. She has been practicing and learning dance since past 10 years.
Dance is not only her passion but is a way to give expression to her soul. She work hard and strive for excellence each day and try to learn other dance forms out of her comfort zone so as to be versatile in this wonderful art of dance.
Recently Prachi Tyagi choreographed a dance on the song ‘Manwaa Laage’ from the movie ‘ Happy New Year’.
‘Manwa Laage’ is a romantic Hindi song from the 2014 Bollywood film, Happy New Year. It is composed by Vishal and Shekhar, the song is sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Arijit Singh, with lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil.
The dance choreography has been directed and edited by Tanveer Singh from Urban Folks.

Dance Choreography of Halkat Jawani from Heroine by Anisha Babbar

A healthcare consultant by profession and a passionate dancer/choreographer, Anisha Babbar was born and bred in a Bollywood fusion dance environment. She is influenced by elements of jazz, hip hop, bharatanatyam, contemporary, Indian folk, and modern Bollywood.
Her dance training involves 10 years as a young instructor and dancer at the Mona Khan Company. As a choreographer, she took off with her tenure as captain and lead of UC Berkeley Azaad from 2014-2015. Azaad went on to win several national championships and awards for Best Choreography and Best Female Dancer.
Anisha’s work includes events like the Super Bowl 50 halftime show, NBC’s America’s Got Talent, NBA halftime shows, and performing with Bollywood celebrities such as Shahrukh Khan and Shaan. Her videos have been featured by Nokia, and channel boasts over 5 million views.
She recently choreographed the song Halkat Jawani from Heroine.

Choreography on ‘Illegal Weapon’ by Jasmine Sandlas Ft. Prachi Tyagi

Recently she choreographed a dance on the famous song ‘Illegal Weapon’ by Jasmine Sandlas which features Hardy Sandhu.
Illegal Weapon is a Punjabi song sung by Garry Sandhu and Jasmine Sandlas. It has been composed by Intense while lyrics are penned by Garry Sandhu. The music video is directed by Sukh Sanghera and features Garry Sandhu, Jasmine Sandlas and Intense.

Tribute to Avicii By Indian Dancers Amit K Samania & Prakrati Kushwaha

On 20th April, the Electronic Dance Music (EDM) fraternity suffered a fatal blow after reports of the death of Tim Bergling aka Avicii surfaced on the internet. While fans and other EDM artists weren’t sure if it was true, Avicii’s publicist Diana Baron confirmed the news while sending shockwaves across the global music industry.
One of the most successful artists in the electronic music industry, Avicii was considered a pioneer of the Electronic Dance Movement in the new era. Thus, there was no surprise that the social media was abuzz with all sorts of reactions coming from fans, music artists and celebrities alike.
Soon after the news was confirmed by Avicii’s publicist, everyone began pouring in the tributes for EDM’s poster boy. From popular DJs to prominent Pop artists, everyone expressed their shock and disbelief at the sudden demise of the Swedish musician.
One such tribute was paid to the legendary DJ Avicii by two Indian Dancers Amit K Samania and Prakrati Kushwaha by choreographing a dance on the song ‘Wake Me Up’ by Avicii.
