Mahabharat is one of the most defining moments of Indian mythological history as it displayed the dynamics of relationships and politics, intertwined with each other. Given the current happenings in our society, one can’t help but think of how would it be like to witness the iconic battle of Mahabharat in today’s world? Rajat Lakhina, in his latest poem ‘Kaurav Mahabharat Ka Yudh Jeet Gaye’, paints that imagery scenario with a modern twist to it.

With his threads of thought, he weaves an interesting conversation between Shakuni and a journalist, who is called to carefully craft the public pride of the Kaurava’s. What follows is an intriguing discussion on the various facets of modern society like media, politics and religion. Come let us view the real world from the prism of fantasy.

Describing this pure emotion in her beautiful poem “It’s Pehla Pyaar, Every Time”, Sriti Jha takes us back in the corridors of teenage and reminds us of our very first love or any other love which always feels like the first love.

Written by her almost nine years ago, it is the most relatable story of all time. Presenting to you this poetic performance, which will leave a smile on our faces.

On the World Hindi Day, Kopal Vyas through her poem “Hindi hai hum”, takes us on a nostalgic road to the our real identities.

World Hindi Day

India is the world’s largest democracy. As a nation, we truly imbibe the spirit of democracy because we don’t have any national language. We embrace every language of our land. But, the current influence of English in our daily lives has reduced the importance of our language.

Today, on World Hindi Day we bring you a beautiful presentation highlighting the beauty of this language and making people realize that speaking in our mother tongue is truly a matter of pride for us all. And let us take this occasion to say that this emotion does not belong to just Hindi language, but belongs to every native language of India.

Kopal Vyas, in her poem “Hindi hai hum”, takes us on a nostalgic road to the our real identities.

Sach: A Thought-Provoking Poetry By Kunal Jhawar

Sach

June Jordan once said, “Poetry is a political act because it involves telling the truth.” And poetry about truth is an even stronger political act as it emotes the unsaid aspects of life bluntly. Today, we bring you one such thought-provoking poetry by Kunal Jhawar.

Kunal is an engineer by profession and a poet by passion. He is writing poems for over a decade now and mainly writes about love and life. One of his poems has also been featured in Rahul Dravid’s biography ” Behind the wall”.

In the backdrop of the recent events in our country, he observes the subtle aspect of life – truth, which has taken different forms today. In the world of fake and paid news, it becomes difficult to identify the actual truth, as the truth we see through the lens of media is not always real. In this KalArt presentation, Kunal through his poem “Sach”, reiterates the thought that we should always look for the real truth.

Presenting to you this thought-provoking poetry by Kunal Jhawar.

Changing Lives With Her Words of Worth: Tuheena Raj

Tuheena Raj, a young poet and writer, takes us through her inspiring journey in her Tedx Talk.

Tuheena Raj

Many at times we’re faced with two equally alluring choices in life and we’re forced to choose one of them, like Robert Frost says in his poem ‘The Road not Taken’- “Two roads diverged in a yellow wood/And sorry I could not travel both…” However, Tuheena Raj, a young poet and writer encourages her readers that it is not necessary to choose one passion, if one stays positive and determined, something good can come by being “the jack of all”.

The founder of WordsofWorth, a famous blog catering to modern day poetry, Tuheena claims that she has always been an active participant in all fields possible, be it drama, academics, dance, music or poetry; she confidently participated in everything she could get her hands on and learned from her diverse experiences. Graduating from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi, Tuheena wanted to become a banker, however a part of her also wanted to become a writer. She made use of the digital space available to her and started with her blog on Instagram as well as Facebook and an year or so later, was appreciated for her work by acclaimed writers of India. Later she also got a job as a banker and continued to manage both of her interests. Her words inspired many young minds and she was thrilled by the idea of her words changing the life of people, for good.

Here are some of her thoughtful words which take us down the lanes of wisdom.

She thus strongly disagrees with the English proverb,” jack of all and master of none”. Her experiences have taught her the contrary and she inspires her readers to believe in themselves and to know that with hard-work and an optimistic outlook, anything is possible.

A Poetic Unravelling Of The Mysteries Of Life

Painting the various facets of life through poetic performances “Sukoon ki Talash Mai” by Pallavi Mahajan and “Zindagi” by Sambhav Jha

Published

Life Poetry

The greatest philosophers and thinkers have tried to unravel the mystery of life. Many works in literature aim at defining life but during the same process, we realize that life does not have one definition. The meaning it embodies differs for all, and the poems in this segment describe life and its many attributes.

Pallavi Mahajan’s “Sukoon ki Talash Mai” talks about the search for contentment and relief in one’s life. With short and crisp lines, she describes a man’s pursuit of contentment and how he achieves it. The journey of finding satisfaction through materialistic achievements and possessions leaves the man disappointed. Eventually, he discovers the true essence of contentment that it is not external but purely internal. Written in Hindi, the poem touches an important subject and throws light on its attainment.

“Zindagi” a poem on life, written by Sambhav Jha and Aarohi Singh tries to describe life through various day to day encounters. According to the writers, life encompasses everything between our first breath and our last smile- the love we feel, the challenges we face, sleepless nights, exciting nights, our achievements and our downfalls. The poem gives an important message of living life to the fullest and reminds the listeners of the inevitability of death.

It is always a wonderful experience to see life from the eyes of others. Click on the links below to discover new perspectives and outlooks. Who knows it may surprise you!
