Bringing you the laughter riot with the humorous performances of Jeeveshu Ahluwalia’s “Sukhad Udaan” and Vipul Goyal’s “Adults vs Babies”.

Standup Comedy

Have you ever found yourself in awkward yet funny situations and thought to yourself that my life would make a great comedy plot? I for sure have, and not in one but many situations. Combining a number of such situations, the following stand up comedians create hilariously relatable pieces which will definitely make you laugh and go,” I know right!”

Jeeveshu Ahluwalia in his stand-up piece called “Sukhad Udaan” talks about airlines and mocks the “over-refined” and unnecessary courtesies executed by the airline staff. He also makes fun of the soaring food prices on planes talks in an exaggerated manner about recurring turbulences which make him say his last prayers. Very comical yet based on real encounters, his banter is sure to dissolve you into laughter.

In his comedy titled “Adults vs Babies”, Vipul Goyal claims that babies are way saner and more sensible than adults. Talking about the weird ways in which adults act around babies, he develops a crowd-pleasing plot which eventually makes us realize how creepy we can be when with babies! Sympathising greatly with toddlers, Vipul weaves a hilarious piece which makes his audience shriek with laughter.

Captivating Our Heart’s Through His Stories: Swaraj Singh

Swaraj Singh

According to an old saying, “Those who tell the stories rule the world”. They captivate people’s attention and embed ideas into our minds through their stories. Swaraj Singh is one such incredible storyteller.

Born and raised in a small town of Jamshedpur in Jharkhand, Swaraj moved to Bangalore for his higher studies. He completed his MBA in marketing. But, to fulfill his childhood dream of becoming an actor, he did his diploma in acting. With over six years’ extensive experience in theatre, he learnt the subtle nuances of performing arts. However, his tryst with story-writing began, when Mehak Mirza Prabhu saw his performance and insisted him to write. “Bhookh” was his very first story which was widely appreciated and gave him an overnight recognition.

Inspired by actors like Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Manoj Bajpayee and Shahrukh Khan, he has given some award-winning performances in short films like Pyada, Conversation Killer and The trust. He also gained appreciation for his solo theatrical play ‘Redfrock’, where he enacted 17 different characters.

While recalling his story, he states that, “Life changed completely after I left my job in Bangalore and came to pursue my dreams in Mumbai. I lost my dad at the start of my career which was the turning point. I was not earning then and being the only child was very challenging as the financial pressure mounted enormously. I am very lucky to have a supportive family. My mother is my biggest strength, as she has always stood beside, while my sister Mehak is my guiding light.”

As a true artist, he is also mentoring budding writers through his initiative named IS-KOOL. In this an online-offline school he trains young writers and storytellers. Conclusively, in his message to all those young dreamers, he states that “Just listen to your heart and chase your dreams. Education is must so it’s always advisable to complete the degree before choosing unconventional careers. Honestly talking to the parents about your dreams is also very essential, because they are the backbone of your foundation. The road to success is never a smooth one, so be prepared for the challenges and hardship and always remember that “NOTHING” in life comes easy. The great thing comes only with great sacrifices.”

The Storyteller From The Heart Of Delhi: Ahmad Faraz

We bring you the incredible story of an upcoming storyteller, Ahmad Faraz. In an exchange with The Talented Indian, he recollects his journey so far.

Ahmad Faraz

There’s an old saying, “Those who tell the stories rule the world”. Storytelling is the best way to capture people’s imagination and attention, bringing meaning to everything it narrates. Ahmad Faraz is a storyteller by heart, who expresses the subtle nuances of life through his stories.

Born in heart of Delhi, Dilli 6, Ahmad is a graduate in Biotechnology and Masters in Communication. He has been a radio host, a radio jockey and now runs his audio podcasts where he narrates his interesting stories to thousands of people.

His tryst with storytelling began even before he was born. His father, a huge fan of the legendary shayar Ahmad Faraz, used to write lots of poetry and sher-o-shayari. As a dedication to the legendary shayar, his father named him Ahmad Faraz. The interest of his father rubbed off on him and he started writing stories since a young age.

Ahmad is inspired by the legendary poet Ahmad Faraz, Jaun Eliya, Premchand and Manto. Recalling his journey as both, interesting and struggling, he says, “I started my stage journey as a standup comedian around 12 years ago, at a time when no one knew what standup comedy was. Then after a few years, life happened and I started working and slowly forgot about my passion. It was a few years ago that my love for storytelling resurfaced, when one of my friends forced me to perform on stage. The enthusiastic response of the audience encouraged me to continue performing live. But the lack of conducive platforms to showcase one’s talent came in my growth’s way. After taking a lesson from my experience, I embarked on a mission to provide a conducive platform to really talented artists.”

He signs off with his message to all the upcoming artists.

“Be original always, never copy anyone’s style or work. Secondly, get inspired by people or artists around you, but don’t compare yourself with others. Just be yourself.”
