A famous Bollywood movie character once stated, “Life is a race. If you don’t run fast, you’ll get trampled”. The dialogue seems true in this fast-pacing life. Among all the anxieties, insecurities and stress, we all forget about our mental health. And when this happens, hope becomes the most powerful word and indeed, the emotional support. Piyush Srivastava, Garvit Soni and Saurabh Jain are the three friends who came together for collaboration and gifted us with this wonderful Indie-pop song- Sanware. Let’s know more about the ‘behind the scenes’ of Sanware.
The Making!
Priyansh Srivastava is a singer-songwriter from Faridabad, pursuing bachelors in mechanical engineering from KIT, Germany. Alongside, he holds Prabhakar in Indian Classical Vocal music from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Prayagraj. Garvit Soni is another proficient singer-songwriter, who has sung Sanware along with Priyansh and writer of the song. The track features Saurabh Jain, another singer-songwriter and another lyricist of the track.
The idea for Sanware originated with the story of Priyansh failing the exams but keeping up the hopes to do better. The half-hour interaction with this trinity was made interesting with their stories and the fun they shared while writing-composing the song. With all three artists being based in separate cities, they were united by this project via online meetings. Sanware was released on 12th January this year and got featured in the “Radar India” and “Fresh Finds India” playlist by Spotify.
What ‘Sanware’ Conveys and Brings Along
Sanware is an Indie classical fusion song with the perfect blend of guitar, flute and magnificent alaaps. Garvit has put his heart and soul into the lyrics of the song. Guitar pieces and music has been composed by Priyansh himself. On the other hand, Saurabh’s lyrics have made the song sound even more realistic. All three have worked together on writing the song. The song was co-written in November 2021 by Priyansh and Saurabh.
The track was written, composed, recorded and compiled in just five days and it seemed effortless for them. Sanware is being loved on the internet and taking inspiration from the success, the trio is now working on releasing an entire album. The song was born out of the real-life experiences of one of the artists, Priyansh. It was the hard times when his friends stood by him, made him believe that no matter what the stress and problems, there’s always a ray of hope to look up to.
What adds to the beauty of the soundtrack is the wonderful artwork by Abhinandan Bhargava in the music video. The lyrics and artwork depict one unified message- in times of despair, it is one’s own optimism and hope that can pull one out of the darkness. Just as is it said, no one can help a person who does not want to be helped, Sanware refers to a friend one has to find in self. Why look for light outside, when the brightest rays of hope lie within self.
