Pride March: Celebrating The Beauty Of Love And Pride

Supporting LGBTQ Community in their Pride March and movement through some artistic dedications.

Published

on

Rainbow Flag

We should have pride in who we are, while supporting others in having pride in who they are. Staying true to your real self is the most fundamental requirement to fully realize your potential. And everyone, irrespective of their religion, caste or gender has the right to that.

The LGBTQ community has faced challenges for a very long time. Now its time that we support them in their movement to attain equality, freedom and pride. We support them by sharing their stories and encourage them to remain true to their identity, creating a more equal and just society.

The rise in such constructive voices and movements are gradually increasing worldwide. The Pride Movement and Pride Marches across the world is our chance of lending our voices in support of the LGBTQ Community. This movement celebrates the true spirit of democracy.

The Chennai Rainbow Pride March is one such annual event, where people come out in large numbers to celebrate love and pride. While supporting this movement, we share with you some artistic creations of people from the LGBTQ community. The Aravani Art Project is “a collective movement working to enable the Transgender Community through Visual Arts, Socially inclusive experiments and Magic.”

#Repost @startindia ・・・ Lodhi Art Festival || @aravaniartproject || Trans Lives Matter In collaboration with the transgender community of Delhi, Aravani Art Project painted their first mural in Delhi in front of the N.P. CO-ED Senior Secondary School in Lodhi Colony. The collective's wall in Lodhi Colony is almost a retrospective of their body of work, bringing together delicate portraits of women they have worked in the past and women who have shaped their philosophies as well. Unity is what emerges from the image they've created in a process that is fundamentally based on inclusion. 10 trans-people and several volunteers contributed to the execution of the wall making it a collective celebration of identity and representation. We absolutely believe in an inclusive world and art should be no different. What do you think?

MS Dhoni: Celebrating Him Through Some Creative Dedications

Celebrating one of the most notable cricketers of all times and the former Captain Cool, MS Dhoni through some artistic dedications.

Published

on

Dhoni

MS Dhoni once said that “You don’t play for the crowd, you play for the country.” This is the spirit with which he enters the field every time. He is the hope of more than a billion people up until the last moment. And he proved that yet again in the Semi-final match with New Zealand in CWC 2019.

Today we celebrate the man who made us proud every single time he entered the field. Whether be it a captain or a batsman or a wicket-keeper, he donned every role with perfection.

Dhoni was born in Rachi, Jharkhand. As a middle-class boy, he was expected to do well in studies and get a good government job to support his family. But, his heart always persuaded him towards sports, so as a result, he was a very good sportsman. He played football and badminton, before being spotted for cricket by his school coach. Eventually, he improved his game and was recognised for his exceptional talent.

Dhoni’s ODI debut was against Bangladesh in December 2004. And after that, there was no looking back. During the ‘Dhoni era,’ he led Team India in 2007 ICC World Twenty20, the 2010 and 2016 Asia Cups, the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy wins.

Dhoni has been conferred with Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award and an honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army, for his extraordinary contribution to the game of cricket.

We celebrate him through some creative dedications.

Hima Das

Winning two international gold medals in a week is no ordinary feat. But, the Indian sprinter Hina Das has achieved it at the Kutno Athletics Meet in Poland.

Nicknamed as Dhing Express, she is a young nineteen-year-old athlete who is the World Junior Champion and National Record Holder in 400m. She is born in a family of farmers in the Kandhulimari village of Assam. Despite all the hardships she worked hard to achieve the laurels for the nation.

In July 2018, she won the 400 m final at the World U-20 Championships 2018 held at Tampere, Finland, becoming the first Indian sprinter to win a gold medal at an international track event. Again at the 2018 Asian Games, Das qualified for the 400 m final, after setting a new Indian national record. Hima also won a silver medal in the 4×400 m mixed relay, which was held for the first time at Asian Games.

In September 2018 she was conferred with Arjuna Award by the President of India. She is also appointed as India’s first-ever youth ambassador of UNICEF-India and Assam’s brand ambassador for sports by the Government of Assam.

In the recent Kutno Athletics Meet in Poland, Hima finished at the top with two international golds in women’s 200m. Despite her back problem she managed to win gold. Das is the second athlete from Assam after Bhogeswar Baruah to win a gold medal at an international event.

We congratulate her on this incredible victory.

Poetry

One of the greatest poets of English literature, PB Shelly once said that “Poetry lifts the veil from the hidden beauty of the world, and makes familiar objects be as if they were not familiar.”

That is the true beauty of poetry, which lies in its ability to beautifully wrap the most ordinary moments of life in a string of words. Poetry impacts our lives more than we imagine as it flows through every aspect of human emotions. They emote our sentiments in the moments of love, heartbreak, victory or defiance.

We bring you some of the most beautiful and impactful poetry, painting our lives through the melody of the words.
